GCLS Convention
The Golden Crown Literary Society is an organization that celebrates and promotes lesbian literature. They hold an annual convention to give out awards for the top books published during the previous year. 2007 was the first year I was able to attend, and my book Sword of the Guardian won in both the Debut Author and Speculative Fiction categories! I had an absolutely amazing time, meeting so many of the authors I idolize, attending some really wonderful and educational writing panels (and even sitting on a couple myself), and of course attending the awards ceremony and dance which was so much fun. By the very last day (all the pictures where I'm wearing the gray hoodie) I was completely exhausted! So ignore my sleepy look... :P
While in Atlanta I stayed with a wonderful friend who I haven't seen in many years. It was great to see her again, and she graciously agreed to be my date for the awards banquet. *^^*
