Char's Visit to Colorado
March 2007
My friend Char, who lives in Vegas, came out to Denver this March for a visit! We had a great time -- I took her to the Butterfly Pavilion, the Pearl Street Mall in Boulder, the infamous Casa Bonita, and then up into the mountains for an afternoon at a hot springs.

My friends Mike and Christine, and new friends Molly and Ashleigh, met up with Char and I at the Butterfly Pavilion. |
||||
Char, Ashleigh and Molly all held Rosie! We couldn't convince Mike and Christine to do it, though. :P |

A few more butterfly pictures. One can never have too many. |

Molly, Ashleigh, Char and I then went up to Pearl Street in Boulder for a little shopping. |
||||
At a huge candy store Ashleigh tried out the Willy Wonka look. |
A street vendor was selling funky hats, so we tried them on. |
Um, have I mentioned how hot these girls are? O.o |

Casa Bonita

Char loves all things tacky, and it doesn't get much tackier than Denver's infamous Casa Bonita. Perhaps you've seen it on South Park? Anyway, the food is awful, the entire restaurant is designed kind of like a weird Mexican Disneyland, and it's sooo much fun when you get the right group of people together... |

Char outside Casa Bonita. This place was BUILT for her. *gringrin* |
One cannot visit a cheesy theme restaurant without doing a cheesy pose. |
Ashleigh, Molly, Char and me. A nice lady took our picture for us, but caught Char with her eyes closed! |
Look, Char, it's the magic food hole! |

Doesn't get any better than a hot chick straddling a hot car. >D |

Idaho Springs
|
||||
The next day, Char and I drove up to Idaho Springs, which is in the mountains... we spent some time relaxing at a natural hot springs resort up there, but I got distracted by all the lovely hot water and tramping around in mud and forgot to take pictures! I did, however, get a couple pictures of where we ate for lunch, and the town's most interesting resident... |
||||
Okay, when we saw the name of this cafe we knew where we had to eat lunch. ^~ (Char and I have a mutual friend named Aimee...) |
A couple of pictures in front of the cafe... |
A shot just for Aimee! ^^ |
While eating lunch we looked out the window, and much to our surprise (and fangirlish delight) we saw a gothic lolita outside the antiques shop across the street, having a cigarette. Not just any gothic lolita, mind you, but a CROSSDRESSING MALE lolita. We visited the shop later, and discovered that he works there, makes his own clothes, and listens to Emilie Autumn. We were ecstatic to meet someone like him in such a little nowheresville town... it was pretty amazing. |
